Setting your rates & preferences for due diligence calls (remote consecutive interpretation)

It is important that you understand the types of assignments available to you from Cadence. The majority are remote due diligence meetings that take place on Zoom, Teams, or on the phone.

We ask that you take the following elements of these projects into consideration when determining your rates.

PARTICIPANTS

There are almost always only 2 participants. An interviewer who is a researcher seeking to understand a topic, and an interviewee who is an industry expert. Colleagues of the interviewer may join these calls.

DURATION

Calls are typically 1 hour long (give or take a few minutes). In 10% of cases where they aren't an hour long, it is due to one of the following reasons:

  • It ends within 10 minutes if the parties feel they aren't able to help each other.
  • It ends within 30 minutes if the interviewer is already familiar with the topic.
  • It ends within 90-120 minutes if the interviewer is impressed with the interviewee.

PREP MATERIALS

There are two types of prep materials we can make available:

  • Biography of the interviewee.
  • Screening questions that the interviewee answered prior to the meeting.

ADVANCE NOTICE

24-48 hours notice is the typical amount of time you'll hear about an assignment before it is scheduled to begin. Sometimes it is longer (one week), and sometimes it is shorter (<2 hours).
